Summary: What we thought was the end of the war was really the beginning of a more brutal one. But how do you tell you last living relative that a sacrifice must be made for victory to be achieved?

	Mortal Battles

I walked through the rubble. The destruction. Something the mortals thought they could stop. It is long started. Too far to stop. They were stupid to even try. Now the question was when would they stop trying? How many had to die? The sirens approached. I fled to the roofs, out of sight.

In a world where you can't be spotted, you can hide, or you can fight for what it is you deserve. But the most important thing to remember is that a war is small battles won, not one large battle. I would know what war is. I was lost in it for years. It was like I didn't exist for years. Because I am the original hybrid. Because I am the granddaughter of Alexander Corvinus.

I can say that I did hide, for many years. I didn't just hide from the eye of the people, I hide from my own eyes. I hide what I was, because what I am was banned from existence. I was a disgrace. I hid with my grandfather, but was not present on his ship during his death. My uncles died shortly after. Thats when we thought the war would be over. When the remaining immortals would be safe. But we had just revealed these creatures to the mortal eye.

By what we thought would end the war had really only started an entirely new one. This war would be harder. My mother and father dead, I have nothing left. The only thing I have left to fight for is me. That and the life of continuing the hybrids. Maybe for my distant relative Michael Corbius.

What I could not do is tell my only living relative that it was not possible to win this war. Not without sacrifice..
